PERSONALITY
Chaotic Neutral
Impulsive | Intimidating | Active
Tenga is the first to jump into action without much thought. If someone is being bullied or needs protecting then he's in. Some would say he's a bully as well by doing this though since "violence shouldn't be solved with more violence."
If things aren't going his way he usually resorts to being threatening, whether that's just looking the part or actually verbalising the threats, depends on the situation.
As a general rule, Tenga will jump to violence and action if he experiences any negative emotion: jealousy, frustration etc. However later he can understand that he can be ill-advised, but he can argue half the time his actions worked to better the situation. Half the time.
Lately, he's been getting better about lashing out so unnecessarily to cause actual lasting damage. Because as it turns out, seeing someone get hurt can hurt another even worse.
Honest | Tenderhearted | Excitable
When it comes down to it Tenga genuinely has the best intentions at heart. His methods just aren't always the best. He's also pretty direct sometimes but he's a good soul, It means exposing kinder words when asked or pushed by friends.
Upliftingly honest you could say, just needs a bit of a push to get past his physical approaches.
But it's hard to make friends in the first place with his threatening demeanour and accidental harsh tones, which leads to very few people being willing to be around him. Thus even a compliment can fluster him to redness.
Surprisingly attentive and intelligent
Since he always jumps into action it can surprise others when he offhandedly says something emotionally smart, he can easily cut to the heart of an issue quicker than most when other's least expect it. And of course, do his best to act upon it. His intelligence is more practical and helpful in day to day life.
Distant [Trauma effect - fading]
He sometimes keeps his distance from others. Not completely, just when they would try to get too close. First impressions of him are blunter, deadpan but not entirely unfriendly. He's been getting better about this as a whole. Laughing sooner around others and goofing off with near strangers. Likely an uplifting side effect of leaving The Nook and striking it out on his own and finally breaking free and allowing himself friends.
Still, sometimes he'll find himself drifting off in his own head but it's gotten easier and easier for others to drag him out of it.

WATER
Intermediate
Dowsing | NOVICE | Here and there he'd want quick access to water, but he's memorised all surrounding bodies of water in Wynsiph so it's less necessary there.
Condense Water | NOVICE | Doesn't really have much need for this ability.
Water Breath | NOVICE | Thinks this ability is a bit dumb but Argo seems to enjoy it.
Manipulate Water | EXPERT | This is the coolest of the basic abilities and most helpful in moving water around while walking as a quad.
Walk Propulsion | EXPERT | Uses this pretty much any time he's in the water to move faster. And since he loves being in the water... yeah he uses this a lot
Create Waterspout | ADEPT | Finds himself using this mostly for water rescue reasons, which is more than a good enough reason to be good at it.
Create Whirlpool | NOVICE | This one's fun and handy for snaring stuff in the water, plus Groovy seems to enjoy riding around the rapids it creates
Walk on Water | NOVICE | He rather be in the water than on it but it has its uses
EARTH
Basic
Sense Vibrations | NOVICE | He prefers to rely on more tangible senses like sight.
Sprout Seeds | INEPT | Concentrating on something so slow is difficult and frustrating so he doesn't really bother.
Earth Manipulation | ADEPT | The handiest ability in his opinion for adding some utility to combat: trip an enemy, get dirt in their eyes etc
Earth Healing | INEPT | He should probably practice this more with how often he gets into fights but it's even more difficult for him than the seed sprouting
WIND
Basic
Enhanced Hearing | INEPT | Not much need for this since he always barges in rather than sneak around
Speedy Movement | EXPERT | Uses this all the time to chase after jerks or just, in general, to keep daily life moving
Wind Gusts | NOVICE | Nice to dry his hair after a swim
Manipulate Sound | NOVICE | Has found some comedic and helpful bonuses to using this sometimes
ICE
Intermediate
Lower Body Temperature | ADEPT | Hasn't found much use for this, especially when he's so often carrying around pets
Breathe Frost | ADEPT | Used to intimidate/warn when needed or cool down hot-headed assholes in general
Call Snow | NOVICE | No real need for this much, but sometimes it helps cheer up others in its wonderous beauty
Freeze Objects | ADEPT | Most handy in his opinion, keeping drinks and things cool. Plus is has defence and utility potential.
LIGHT
Intermediate
Light Healing | NOVICE | He's so bad at focusing on such tedious abilities but he knows he needs to keep this one handy so he struggles through it.
Generate Light | NOVICE | He admits this is a handy ability to have when he can't always walk around with a torch or whatever
Telekinesis | ADEPT | This is probably the coolest ability in his opinion so he keeps it practised.
Telepathy | INEPT | Tenga's a guy of action, so he hates this ability on principle
Kena
Sweetheart
Tenga's made a bunch of friends over time as he got better at being friendly, but none like this. Because he didn't have to be overly friendly to Kena, she understood him anyway. It's so much easier than putting all his energy into smiling all the time. Funnily enough, that seems to make him smile all the more around her.
She's sweet and super cute here, and then the next moment she can be so strong and fierce (and hot) so yeah, he's feeling more than a little flustered at the double combo.
But yes, most importantly he can be himself, all the dark sides too. Even when it upsets her she stays in the end and instead helps him to improve. Not because she wants him to change for herself but because she wants him to change for the betterment of himself.
Zoo
Adopted Son
Tenga will be this dude's hype man for the rest of his life. Like he's a little dude, that's under his and Kena's care, and that's so awesome! And he's awesome, doing stuff with and learning everything for the first time! It's crazy!
Tenga's so proud! He may not be their kid by blood but he's still better than all the other kids, best kick ass kid.
Prairie
Ex-Roommate & Friend
Prairie is easy to be around, especially in short bursts where she'd invite (and verbally drag) him to go out for classes or parties etc. His energy matches hers in those moments. Although eventually draining if he spends too long with her, but luckily that's a high bar to reach and she usually moves on to something else by then. She comes and goes like that. Reliable but not consistent. Which suits them both just great.
He's not sure if it's because she can read him well enough to know his more negative moods or not, either way, she retreats to give him alone time which is appreciated. Although he does wonder if it's because she's scared or can't be bothered. A weird thought since she's clearly a risk-taker.
Sonata
Friend
She's a bit an odd one but he can tell she's got a good heart and is doing her best. After all, she never seemed bothered by his own questionable behaviour. So he feels responsible for watching out for her whenever she swoops back into the scene. Even when he can't see her he's hoping somewhere in the back of his busy mind that she's okay.
Russet
Enemy [MIA]
Worst of the worst, Russet is number one on his watch list (previously a hit list), Tenga has his eye on this birdy bastard so he doesn't hurt anyone with him around, physically or verbally.
No you know what, what's this guy's deal?! The world already sucks just by nature and chance why does he have to actively make it worse?? He keeps getting hurt too, how is he not learning he's making it worse for himself in the process. The combo of negativity and self-sabotage (probably from stubborn idiocy) just makes Tenga see red - which is worse when he's looking directly at him obviously.
Kuma
Pal [MIA]
Tenga would feel bad for her, what with the whole Russet as a dad thing, if it weren't for the fact he's too busy admiring how much she doesn't take his crap lying down. Mad respect, plus she was a wicked good and reliable team member during Spite Hunter training so yeah he'd call on her again to have his back.

Pets
Argo
Runeboo
Groovy
Runeboo
-
Argo was given to him when they were both just babies
-
Tenga was in a dark place and Argo was meant to be some sort of 'trama comfort pet'
-
Even when Tenga tried to get rid of him, he just kept coming back.
-
Eventually, Tenga gave up. They've been stuck side by side ever since
-
Groovy is a really chill boo that strangely seems to love the water
-
Tenga found him swirling around in his whirlpool practice so that says a lot about the the fella
Deepsy
Runeboo
Grover
Wibble
-
Tenga found this gal while mid-drown
-
He saved her with his water spout magic and the boo has stuck around in case it ever happens again.
-
Not that he's complaining, she's a sweet thing
-
With all the time Tenga spends around the water he shouldn't be surprised he keeps finding pets in danger of drowning
-
And yet... he's surprised
-
This baby Wibble was stuck hanging over the water before Tenga saved him
Moray
Tyke
Chem
Beeb
-
Tenga wasn't sure what these things were
-
When he asked Prarie, she rambled about how her family have a farm and her grandpa grew "Mimo" for her
-
Somehow she thought that meant he wanted one too, so now he has this funky looking thing
-
Tenga found the seed and had no idea what it was
-
Praire told him it was a seed but refused to tell him what plant
-
He was hoping for some fruit or something
-
Now he has this thing

Hatched in The Nook!
-
[Deelagun Attack of 2018] The Deelagun attack left Tenga anxious to go fight the big bully but Alma wouldn't let him out. He got to help save some runeboos with Kalypso though!
-
Then on the way back to The Nook, against Alma's commands, he went to explore the Deelagun death zone. Getting all up in the corpse and covered in the dark blood. He didn't get to stay long before he was picked up and taken back.
-
He didn't even get a proper chiding from Alma before he was already feeling feverish and tired.
-
It wasn't long before he was taken to the awful tented off area with a bunch of other sick looking Wyngrew. The mood hit him like a brick wall, dreary and boring. He hated every bit of it, and wanted to snap at every frown and hushed "How do you feel?" ANNOYED
-
Eventually, a bright orange Wyngling was dropped off beside him, and boy was Nico a breath of fresh air.
-
Together they decided to make a storybook about themselves to show to others to make even more friends.
-
But things just didn't go that way.
-
Tenga knew what the adults were trying to hide. That Nico wasn't coming back, just like all the others he'd seen being carried out.
-
It wasn't fair, it was her idea to make the book. She'd made him a friend. But now she'd have none. Why should he have any? They'd probably just end up leaving as she did. He should just rely on himself, no one else was strong enough.
-
-
Released from the quarantine, Tenga thought he was doing well enough on his own. But apparently, the adults didn't think so. They gave him a little squishy thing that followed him around everywhere. It's fine, it can do that if it wants, Tenga had no reason to stop it but he'd not going to go out of his way to make sure it's always there or anything.
-
Since then he's had closure, letting Nico go into the stars, beating up bullies (and unknowingly gaining an enemy for life) and getting attached to the little Runeboo he'd given the name Argo.
-
As soon as Tenga was big enough he took what opportunity he could to leave The Nook, taking part in Water Magic Class for some practical skill.
-
Soon the friction between his number one enemy, Russet became too much and he had to find a new home.
-
He continued on with his water magic and coming across others, got a tattoo and found a new home in a roommate situation with Prairie at The Cosy Coatala.
-
They further bonded at Prairie's insistence by joining magic class together. Tenga learning wind while she tackles water, stepping in each other's shoes so to speak
-
He finds all the interactions reinvigorating, if a little bit bittersweet when old memories crop up.
-
He joins another class, this time for ice.
-
During all these classes, he and Prairie also attend a couple of pouch parties, one of an old classmate and the other of their landlady
-
-
Tenga meets a kindred spirit at one party and finds he enjoys her company, no challenge or stress he can just be.
-
To make matters better (and more... complicated) he runs into her again later in the forest. The soft princess is also a warrior and he is thoroughly impressed if confused (and very attracted)
-
They spend time together here and there, to the point where Tenga would consider her his closest friend.
-
But he's too flustered and trying to appear big and tough to ask her to hang out more outside of coincidentally running into her.
-
To keep busy, he saves an egg, keeps advancing his water magic and even saves a pet or two. Or three.
-
-
Spite Hunting classes are offering to the town sometime later. And he'd be damned if he doesn't join
-
Only to run into the warrior princess Kena yet again. They join forces and unfortunately, this includes Tenga's old enemy Russet. Tenga keeps him from being a danger to others and himself, doesn't mean he has to be gentle.
-
To make matters worse, Kena - his most treasured friend - is looking at him with horror. Not the bird bully. And it hurts.
-
Things get dark and tense for a moment there, but for once he uses his words to step through an issue and they end up better for it.
-
Heartkindle rolls around and the pair exchange and receive some interesting gifts, so much so they come together to react to them.
-
Talk of travel has been swirling around town lately too, so juuuust in case, Tenga also gets some earth magic training under his belt. Worth it even when Russet rears his ugly head again. He's proud that he doesn't punch him out but still removes him as the problem.
-
He hears rumour of a big lady with treasure and it gives him an idea. Even if the interaction less than impressed in the end.
-
Learns some basic woodwork with Chester to build himself a boat for his pets for when he goes swimming.
-
Takes a light magic class to continue keeping busy and learning skills to get himself somewhere
-
-
But really it's all a big plan to show off to Kena cause she's so cool.
-
It all comes to a head eventually where he can't hold back anymore.
-
So, of course, that's when the town is attacked by some massive Pelt Prowler and he ends up scratched up and with a broken leg but who cares when he gets to smooch your now sweetheart mid-battle.
-
Things settle and he moves in, of course. And helps his old roommate and friend Prairie move into The Cranny.
-
He and Kena hang around The Nook and well he has feelings about seeing her with kids. And as usual, comes right out and tells her.
-
She has had some horrible experiences in the past though so they agree to adopt an egg. And adopt they do!
-
Except... now it looks like they're forced to interact with the very guy that caused Kena so much strife before and Tenga is not pleased.
-
Still, he makes an effort to play nice, for the kid's sake. For now...
-
And true to form, they hatch during the pouch party once again!
